Dr. Ryan V. Abbaszadeh is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon with who specializes in heart and lung surgery including coronary artery bypass grafting, minimally invasive valve repair and replacement, aortic arch replacement, and atrial fibrillation surgery.
Biography
Dr. Abbaszadeh is a native of Wyoming. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington. He then completed a General Surgery residency at the University of Washington and served as Chief Resident. Following residency, he completed a fellowship in Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery at the prestigious University of Virginia program. While there, he was awarded the Mulholland Resident and Fellow Teaching Award for excellent in medical student education and served as Chief Resident in his final year of training.
Dr. Abbaszadehâs interests include all aspects of cardiothoracic surgery, with special interests in coronary artery bypass grafting with multi-arterial grafting, aortic disease, and transcatheter valve replacement. He also has extensive experience in ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) and other forms of mechanical circulatory support, diseases of the aortic and mitral valves, and surgery for atrial fibrillation.
Dr. Abbaszadeh is board certified by both the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery and is an active member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Southern Thoracic Surgical Association, and American College of Surgeons.
