Peter Bolan
Biography
Dr Bolan joined Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery Associates in August 2023. He was previously in practice in Macon Georgia for nearly 20 years. In Macon he was the lead Cardiothoracic surgeon and performed complex adult cardiac surgery. In addition to performing coronary revascularization, he also performed open, minimally invasive valve surgery and transcatheter valve replacemets. He has a special interest in thoracic aortic surgery. During his training he spent time at The University of Pennsylvania specializing in repairs of the ascending, arch,descending and thoracoabdominal thoracic aortic pathologies. He also specialized in heart failure surgery performing left ventricular assist devices and started the ECMO program which was instrumental in saving numerous lives during the COVID pandemic.
Dr. Bolan grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. He attended Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois and played college football. He attended Medical School at Rush University Medical School in Chicago. He completed his general surgery residency at Emory University in Atlanta, followed by a Cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.
